You are already a piece of art.
Let's honour the beauty that is uniquely yours.
THE JOURNEY
How does the whole process work?
The journey begins with a conversation. Once you reach out, we’ll have a pre-shoot consultation (usually via video call) to talk about your vision, your boundaries, and any nerves you might have. We’ll plan the setting, styling and the mood together. On the day of the photoshoot, we move slowly and gently. After the session, you will receive your images within 2–3 weeks.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, I believe that this experience should be accessible. I offer payment plans to make the investment more manageable for you. We can discuss the details during our consultation to find a rhythm that works for your budget.
THE SETTING
Where will the photoshoot take place?
In Her Skin Photography is built around the comfort of the familiar. Most sessions take place in your own home. Your bedroom, your living room, or wherever you feel most at ease. If your home doesn’t feel like the right setting, we can book a "Hotel Experience" together in a beautiful hotel sanctuary in Glasgow or the surrounding countryside.
What if my house or bedroom is too small or "messy"?
Please don’t worry about that. I don’t need a perfect, styled home. I only need a window and a little bit of space for us to move. I am experienced in finding the light in small corners. This is about you, not your interiour design.
Do you bring a lot of studio equipment?
No. I work almost exclusively with natural light. I won’t be bringing big flashes, umbrellas, or heavy equipment into your home. It will just be me and my camera, keeping the atmosphere quiet, intimate, and low-pressure.
How does the Hotel Experience work exactly?
If you choose the Hotel Experience, we will select a hotel together that fits the mood you’re looking for. You would typically book the room yourself, allowing you to stay overnight and turn it into a 24-hour sanctuary. The cost is simply the hotel room price plus your chosen photography package.
PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION
What should I wear?
Your comfort is key. We focus on beautiful lingerie, intimate apparel, or elegant nightwear. Most women choose lace sets, a body, or a nightdress. We can also add accessories like suspender belts. We'll discuss your style and choose colours that create stunning contrasts for our black and white photography.
Do you have a client wardrobe?
No. The experience is more personal and authentic with your own intimate apparel. It ensures comfort and reflects your unique style. Due to sizing and hygiene, it's best to bring your own pieces.
Do you provide Hair and Makeup?
No, I don’t offer hair and makeup services. The philosophy of In Her Skin Photography is to capture your true essence, your soul, not to create a masked version of you. This is not a glamour shoot. You are welcome to do your own hair and makeup in a way that makes you feel beautiful and authentic. However, many women choose a very natural look to keep the session as honest and raw as possible, allowing your true self to shine through.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes, I primarily shoot on weekends. I find that Saturdays and Sundays often provide the most relaxed environment, away from the pressure of work, school runs, and weekday responsibilities. It allows you to truly sink into the experience without feeling rushed. However, if a weekday session suits your schedule better, we can certainly arrange that too.
COMFORT & PRIVACY
I’m scared, and I don’t know how to pose. Can you help?
It is completely normal to feel nervous. Most women I photograph have never done this before. You don’t need to know how to pose; that is my job. I will guide you gently through every movement, giving you clear direction. To make you feel even more comfortable and confident, I will prepare a small mood board for our session. This way, you’ll not only receive verbal guidance but also visual examples, making it much easier to understand and embody the poses. My goal is to leave space for you to just breathe and be yourself, while I ensure you look stunning.
Can a friend be present during the session?
I want you to feel completely safe. If having a trusted female friend nearby helps you feel secure, she is welcome to be there. However, I generally find that the most honest and intimate images happen when it is just the two of us. Having an "audience" can sometimes make it harder for you to truly soften and be yourself in front of the lens.
Do you photograph women of all ages and body types?
Absolutely. In Her Skin Photography is for every woman, regardless of age, size, or story. I believe that everybody is a piece of art and deserves to be seen with dignity. You are welcome here exactly as you are.
What if I have scars, stretch marks, or skin conditions?
Then you are human, and you are welcome. I do not "retouch away" the things that make your body yours. While I perform professional editing to ensure the lighting and mood are perfect, I believe that your marks are part of your history. We will celebrate your body as it is. Small, temporary skin imperfections like blemishes or pimples will, of course, be gently removed. However, I will never alter your natural body shape, size, or permanent features such as scars or stretch marks. My focus is always on enhancing your unique beauty, highlighting your captivating eyes, a beautiful smile, or the texture of your hair, to truly bring out your essence.
Will my images be published on social media?
Only if you give me your explicit, written permission. Your privacy is my absolute priority. After you see your final gallery, I will ask if you are comfortable with me sharing any specific images. You have full control: you can choose to keep all images private or allow partial sharing. For example, images where your face is not visible, blurred, or detail shots. If you agree to share, even partially, it is a powerful way to inspire and empower other women to embrace their own beauty and experience a session like yours. Your shared images help build a community and show the diverse beauty of women.
LOGISTICS
When is the best time for an in-home photoshoot?
Since I work with natural light, the session must take place during daylight hours. Every home is different. Some have the best light in the morning, while others are brighter in the afternoon. We will discuss the orientation of your space and the time of year to find the perfect window of light for your session.
How far do you travel for in-home sessions?
My base is in KA3, and I cover Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Travel within a 25-mile radius of KA3 is included in your package. For locations further afield, such as Edinburgh or other parts of Scotland, I am more than happy to travel to you for an additional travel fee. We can discuss the specifics during our consultation to ensure it works for both of us.
What if I have to postpone or cancel?
I understand that life happens. If you need to postpone, please let me know as soon as possible, and we will find a new date. My full cancellation and rescheduling policy will be provided in our initial contract, so you know exactly what to expect.
Can I order physical prints or an album?
Yes. While my packages include high-resolution digital images, there is something very special about holding a physical print. I offer high-quality, professional prints and can help you create a beautiful, private album to hold your memories.
